I was born and raised in México and we always use anaranjado(a) to describe the color of an item: el sombrero es anaranjado, la sombrilla es anaranjada.
Less common but also aceptable is to say: el sombrero es color naranja o la sombrilla es color naranja.

In la Marina Alta, provincia Alicante en Region Valencia they use naranja when speaking castellano. En valenciano es taronja.

Hi,
I’m from Cuba, and I remember mostly using the word “anaranjado.”However, once I moved to the US, I started using “naranja.” This probably happened because of the amount of people from other countries who call it that way. It could just be my personal experience, but that’s how it worked for me.
