This history behind my rose gold office
I am coming up on one-year (three years, updated 7/21) of blogging at the end of this month. I cannot believe what a whirlwind of a year it has been. Thanks to one night of too much wine with my friend last October, I finally got the courage to embark on an idea that I had been wanting to do for quite some time. Here I am, one year later, more excited about blogging than when I began.
Let me tell you, blogging is not easy by any means. Especially if you’re like me and did no research whatsoever and just nosedived into the process. Blogging takes a lot of time and dedication. You have to make sure you stay on top of posting consistent, great content, and you must always stay up-to-date with the online world and social media forums.
I hope one day I can turn my blog into a full-time gig. For now, I am absolutely enjoying all of the things I am learning. And in the process, I hope I am helping you, my awesome readers, with all of my tips and advice on motherhood.
One of my biggest struggles with blogging has been knowing when to STOP. I could literally, and I have, pull all-nighters every night because there is truly no limit to where blogging can take you. However, I cannot afford to live that college-lifestyle because I have a two-year-old, and a strong-willed two-year-old at that. The minute he sees me pop on my phone, or sneak away to my computer, he starts acting out.
Lennox is my priority, so I knew I had to create boundaries and start time-blocking. I knew the only way I was going to make that happen was by creating a beautiful workspace that would inspire me during Lennox’s nap times, and after he goes to bed. That’s why I decided to create this gorgeous rose gold office, and let me say, it’s bright and chic touch is not only inspiring, but it calms my racing brain more than I could have ever imagined.
I hope you enjoy my office renovation and get some inspiration yourself.
Accessories in my Rose Gold Office
Before designing my office space, I needed to pick a desk that inspired my theme. I searched around for a couple of weeks before finally finding the perfect one. This Silver Orchid Wheaton Glam Mirror Writing Desk not only has ample space for my computer and all of my accessories, but it is absolutely gorgeous! It sits in front of my office window, so it reflects the sunlight onto the whole upper floor of our townhouse.
It was straightforward to set up (according to Carlos since he surprised me with it all set up when I got off of work), and it is durable. I was a bit nervous about purchasing this glass desk with Lennox continually playing in my office, but I haven’t had any issues now 9-months in.
It was also one of the only desks on Overstock.com that had a consistent 5-star rating! You can check the desk out here!
To accent all of the rose gold in the office, I added in some gold and ceramic fixtures, such as the table & floor lamp.
Sorry, not sorry, but I need a little Rae Dunn in every room in my house. Also, I didn’t want to drown out the office with only metals.
I don’t know about you, but I am very pick with what writing utensils I use because I am OCD about having nice handwriting. I also have lists everywhere so highlighters are a must. Here are my current faves. The journal planner pens are amazing for penmanship, and also for doodling!
I purchased both of these items from Kohls, but they don’t carry the exact products anymore. These are the similar curtains, with a different design.
I love everything Simple Human, especially their kitchen items and bathroom products. All of their products are so functional and well made. Even though they are a bit pricey, I prefer to invest in them over buying the next cheapest option.
We have had our kitchen trashcan for almost five years now, and it is still in top-notch shape.
All of our bathrooms have with these compact trashcans, and once I saw there was a rose gold one, I knew I had to get one for my office.
I love zebra print. I know, I know, so early 2000s. It adds some contrast to the room and really makes it pop.
The zebra stool I have had for quite some time now. I actually purchased it at Tj Maxx, but I found a similar style on Overstock
