Before I go into more details about this fun activity, let’s take a brief glance at what materials you will need for this holiday scavenger hunt.

Preparing for this activity is super easy. All you need to do is digital download which you can grab in my Free Printable Spanish Library after subscribing at the end of this post.

  • 8.5 x 11 printer paper or card stock
  • A printer to print out the PDF file.
  • Coloring utensils such as a box of crayons, colored pencils or markers.
  • Your child!

Scavenger hunts are a fun and interactive way to engage children in a variety of activities.

As a parent, I have seen the benefits of scavenger hunts firsthand. Not only do they promote physical activity, but they also encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

One of the biggest benefits of scavenger hunts for kids is that they get children moving. With the rise of technology, many children are spending more time indoors and less time playing outside.

This Christmas-themed scavenger hunt will provide an opportunity for children to explore the outdoors, get some exercise and enjoy the wonders of the Christmas season.

Additionally, scavenger hunts can be tailored to different age groups and skill levels, making them accessible and enjoyable for all children.

Play this game in small groups or get the entire family involved at home over winter break. What a fun way to spread the holiday spirit!

This is the perfect game to play in your classroom party or as a whole family over Christmas break! Here’s how to play:

Print out as many scavenger hunt sheets as needed. Play individually, or group younger children in to small groups for collaborative team work.

If you are at home, you can Christmas decorations around your house for your children to find, or go on a walk to see if the kiddos can find these items outside.

For classroom use, I recommend printing off a set of my free printable Christmas vocabulary flashcards and hiding them in different places around the classroom. Or, for reading practice, you could write the words on a sheet of paper for some literacy holiday fun.

Set a time limit for this game and let your students engage in some friendly competition.

Once the time is up, have your students go through and repeat which items they found and which items they didn’t find.

If playing this game in Spanish, try to keep the conversation in Spanish for verbal practice.

Are your students on Santa’s nice list? Then have them write a letter to Santa in Spanish asking for their desired Christmas presents!
